What Do You Actually Want?
Most people know what they don’t want. The interesting ones can name the rest.

Ask a room what they don’t want and hands go up. Ask what they do want and it goes quiet. Desire is easier to feel than to say, and easier to say than to say well.
Start small and specific. Not ‘more romance’, but ‘you taking the lead on Friday’. Not ‘something new’, but ‘a night where neither of us looks at a phone’. Specific wants can be answered. Vague ones just hang in the air.
Then sort them. Yes, no, maybe. The maybes are where most of the good conversations live.
“Know what you want before you ask someone else for it.”
